Technician Tip of the Month

Image result for different desiccant sachets

This month’s tip has been sent to us by Michaela Wheeler, Essex.

Keep hold of all those desiccant sachets from handbags, shoes and furniture and place them in a sealed Tupperware tub with your indicator papers. It keeps all the moisture out and is less hassle than keeping them in a desiccating jar.

    Dear Science ASSIST supporter,

ASTA and SETA are VERY pleased to inform you that they have managed to secure further support from the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training to 'reboot'  Science ASSIST.

At this point, the Science ASSIST advisory service will focus wholly on school laboratory safety for teachers and technicians. New science curriculum resources and advice will not be included in the short term.

In the next few weeks, the Q&A section of the website will be reopened and the Science ASSIST team will continue the development of technical resources including Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments and Information sheets. These will be loaded to the website as they are completed.

Thank you for championing the project by continuing to access the Science ASSIST website over the past 6 months and letting the Science ASSIST team know the value of the resources and advice to you. We couldn't have done it without you.

We will send another newsletter by the end of July letting you know of our progress and when the Q&A will be once more 'open for business'. In the meantime, please spread the word to your colleagues and encourage them to sign up for the e-News if they haven't already.

    The Science ASSIST team. :)
