STAR Week

STAR Week is a national week of recognition encouraging Australian schools to celebrate the vital contributions of science laboratory technicians. It provides an opportunity to acknowledge their professional support, invaluable expertise, and essential role in delivering safe, engaging, and high-quality practical science experiences.

Celebrate your contribution to science!

Print your own certificate, bring your own cake, but most importantly take time out from your day to recognise the pivotal role and the impact you have at your school. Point all this out to the science staff, who could not get through their week, without you doing your job.

Some ways your school could celebrate you:

  • Highlight your work at staff meetings or an assembly.
  • Provide you with a formal certificate of appreciation from the principal or science department.
  • Host a special morning tea.
  • Feature you in the school’s newsletter, website or social media.
  • Invite staff or students to write a message of appreciation on how you have supported the classroom outcomes.
  • Just tell you that they recognise and acknowledge the work that you do.

Schools, get planning to show appreciation for your valued school lab techs!
